about us

The Learner, Resource Consultant, and parents develop a learning plan which shows what the learner is doing now, how he/she wants to grow and how he/she plans to get there.

Is VISION HCP for Me?

Program Overview

  • Each Learner works individually with a Resource Consultant.
  • The Resource Consultant, parent or another trusted adult meets with the Learner weekly to check in and to work continually towards a deeper and more meaningful relationship with the Learner.
  • The Learner, Resource Consultant, and parents develop a learning plan which shows what the learner is doing now, how he/she wants to grow and how he/she plans to get there. The plan includes consideration of Colorado Model Content Standards and a plan to meet those standards.
  • Each Learner has access to a specified amount of money to support his/her education according to the learning plan.
  • Each Learner documents his/her learning in a growth plan that is updated quarterly.
  • During regularly scheduled meetings, the Learner, Resource Consultant, and parent discuss what kind of learning has occurred and how the learner's schedule is working out. They also look through the learner's work.
  • Upon meeting graduation requirements, learners can receive a VHCP credit diploma or a VHCP community diploma, both of which are accredited Delta County School District diplomas.
  • The Vision program is based on the integrity of all who participate in it.
